Creating this Painted Feathers Bronze Pendant…

I love framed Art, so when I started working on this Painted
Feathers Bronze Pendant, my vision was to capture an abstract image.

I don’t like to paint or draw. At best, when I did draw,
my images were either stick figures or shapes.
Yet, I have several family members who are gifted painters.
My grandfather at 75 yrs, read in Readers Digest, if you can
read, you can learn how to paint. And so he did, for the next
20 yrs of his life. He chose to work with oil paints.
My cousin, Sharon was an Art Therapist. I remember one of
her charcoal drawings. It was an American Indian.
The sun worn wrinkles on his face were so vivid,
I wanted to touch the paper as if I could feel them.
She later moved on to oils or acrylics, I’m not sure which,
and opened her very own Gallery in La Placitas, NM.
My cousin Lisa’s son, Jason, is also gifted with drawing.
He went to Art School in Rhode Island.

From the early days of ceramics, I learned a dry brush technique.
It was fun to dab a brush into some paint, remove the excess and
scrub it into the bisque.
I used the dry brush method on this Painted Feathers Bronze Pendant.
Starting with one color all over and adding subtle highlights here & there
until I was happy with the result.
Painting on a scale this size is more my speed.
